Economic Empowerment

Our Economic Empowerment Program is designed to lift vulnerable families especially women and youth out of poverty by equipping them with the resources, skills, and opportunities they need to generate income, build resilient livelihoods, and secure better futures

Access to Low-Interest Loans

Access to Low-Interest Loans

Through our community-based financial inclusion model, CaRNaC provides low-interest loans to individuals and groups who lack access to conventional banking services. These loans are tailored to support income-generating activities such as small-scale farming, retail businesses, artisan work, and livestock rearing.

Our model is flexible and inclusive, prioritizing people from marginalized backgrounds who are committed to improving their household livelihoods.

Support to Microfinance Community Groups

We mobilize and strengthen community microfinance groups to promote savings and lending at the grassroots level. These groups foster a culture of financial discipline and collective growth. Members pool savings, access loans, and reinvest in their businesses, while also building social capital and mutual trust within their communities.

CaRNaC offers technical training to these groups in areas such as financial management, record keeping, group governance, and business planning.

The 100 WEEKS Program: Transforming Women’s Lives

A flagship component of our empowerment strategy is the 100 WEEKS program a targeted intervention for economically vulnerable women. Under this program, selected women receive weekly cash transfers for a period of 100 weeks, alongside structured empowerment training sessions focused on:

  1. Financial literacy
  2. Business development
  3. Self-confidence and leadership
  4. Health, nutrition, and family care

Women in the program are also organized into support groups, where they work together, share experiences, and build solidarity. The program has proven successful in improving family income, reducing dependency, and uplifting entire households.
